Personal Development & Health Activities

Today I taught PDH with two different classes, Year Two and Year Three. Year Two are focusing on 'Super Heroes' and Year Three are focusing on 'Making healthy choices.' Both classes are completing Healthy Harold Activity books (which are fantastic!) but we also made a class book for each topic as I really enjoy creating class books. The students feel as though they are contributing and have a useful product they can refer to anytime they desire.

Year Three - First we traced the outline of  a student onto butchers paper and then brainstormed 'healthy choices' and wrote them down on Post its and stuck them to our body. We then discussed what effect each healthy choice had the body. The students then filled in a page of their Healthy Harold booklet and we created our class book. Here are the results!

Year Two are learning about Super Heroes including Firefighters, Sports Identities, Police Officers, etc. The focus of today was the qualities that each students already possesses that makes them a superhero. We brainstormed fantasy superheroes and came up with a list of qualities they had and then brainstormed the qualities that made the students superheroes. The students then created their own Superhero in the Healthy Harold booklets and then filled out their class page book. The results were great!
