Inquiry Based Learning

I am really interested in Inquiry Based Learning, but found my initial attempts on practicums to not be so successful. So I am ready to make a fresh start and have found some excellent tips and advice on how to do so.

My biggest barrier was not picking the right topic or having the right resources, but how to actually scaffold and teach my students to take control of their learning.

Right now I am using this template as a guide and have found some really interesting reads that have helped shaped my focus and given me more confidence in attempting Inquiry Based Learning projects again. Hope they help.

This manual is a comprehensive look at a science-based inquiry project and has a lot of excellent tips on how to start a project and teaching your children the skills they need to actively take control of their learning. Its fantastic.

This website has links to many great resources for inquiry based learning including lesson plan templates, so that you can actually see what happens during the lesson.

Please comment with any tips or suggestions on how you scaffold your learning or have implemented  Inquiry Based Learning in your classroom. Thanks
Jaide xx
